Our Diabetes Education Program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association for excellence in diabetes education. Diabetes self management and nutrition counseling available in individual and group sessions. A written order from a physician is required.

Learn how to maintain control of your blood glucose level during pregnancy. Glucose monitoring, nutrition, exercise and fetal well-being will be discussed. The weight-loss surgery support group is free and open to everyone. The sessions are held on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Manor Building (Manor Classroom), which is located next to the hospital.

Sibling Tours
Sibling tours are designed to help big-brother-or big-sister-to-be feel more comfortable when baby arrives. Children will have an opportunity to learn about the Family Birthplace and see where mom will deliver the baby. Parents are given a recommended readling list and sibling rivalry information as well assuggested activities to smooth the transition for the sibling-to-be. Children must be two years of age or older to participate. Tours are by appointment only.

Sibling Tours
Sibling tours are designed to help big-brother-or big-sister-to-be feel more comfortable when baby arrives. Children will have an opportunity to learn about the Family Birthplace and see where mom will deliver the baby. Parents are given a recommended readling list and sibling rivalry information as well assuggested activities to smooth the transition for the sibling-to-be. Children must be two years of age or older to participate. Tours are by appointment only.

Diabetes Management During Pregnancy
Learn how to maintain control of your blood glucose level during pregnancy. Glucose monitoring, nutrition, exercise and fetal well-being will be discussed. Insulin instruction will be offered if recommended by your physician. A written order from a physician is needed. Individual sessions available by appointment.

Infant and Child CPR
American Heart Association-certified instructors will teach participants how to perform life-saving techniques on newborns and children up to age eight. Safety issues will be discussed and registration and payment are required prior to attending the class. Infant and Child CPR is highly recommended for expectant parents, grandparents, and baby sitters, but this course does not result in certification. Pre-teens and teens are allowed. Reduced-fee parking is available in the hospital garage. Registration is limited and the class is over when all are comfortable with their skills. The cost for this class is $25.

The Clothes Closet is a resale shop for the community. Obtain or donate gently used clothes, shoes, books, housewares, and more. Stop by anytime to drop off donations, which are tax-deductible. The shop is located at 2913 N. Commonwealth Ave. For more information, call 773-665-3167.

The weight-loss surgery support group is free and open to everyone. The sessions are held on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Manor Building (Manor Classroom), which is located next to the hospital.
