Cancer Support Group

Join Saint Joseph Hospital’s Cancer Support Group for men and women battling the disease. A social worker facilitates discussions. Free.

First Thursday of every month; 6-7 p.m.

NEW Breast Cancer Support Group

Are you looking for a safe place to express your fears, experiences and concerns about breast cancer? Each month, visit our free support group for women diagnosed with breast cancer led by Linda Ritt, adjunct professor in Counseling and Human Services at Roosevelt University and owner of CCA/Counseling Consultation and Assessment. Ritt will provide valuable information about healing in an open environment where group members can share personal experiences and provide emotional support for one another. Sessions will take place the third Thursday of every month – the next session is at Nov. 20 – from 7 to 8 p.m. at Saint Joseph Hospital, 2900 N. Ovarian Cancer Support Group

This monthly Ovarian Cancer Support Group provides help and information for anyone who has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Participants determine topics covered during these meetings. Free.

Diabetes


Diabetes Support Group

This support group is designed for individuals with diabetes and their caregivers. Facilitated by a social worker and diabetes educator, the group serves as a safe place for emotional support and group discussion. Free.

Parenting and Childbirth Preparation


The Mom Network Support Group

In response to a community need for parenting support and information, Saint Joseph Hospital has established The Mom Network Support Group for new mothers and their babies. Topics covered in the weekly meetings are determined by participants and have included the baby blues, fatigue, feeding issues, sleep patterns, infant brain development and time management skills.
