Diabetes Education Programs
Diabetes Education Individual and Group Sessions
Learn how to manage diabetes effectively through education and lifestyle changes. Individuals with diabetes will receive comprehensive education, including a diabetes overview, glucose monitoring, medication use, basic nutrition, exercise, sick day management and prevention of complications. Insulin instruction will be given if ordered by your physician. A written order from a physician is needed. Individual and group sessions available Monday through Friday. Diabetes Management During Pregnancy
Learn how to maintain control of your blood glucose level during pregnancy. Glucose monitoring, nutrition, exercise and fetal well-being will be discussed. Insulin instruction will be offered if recommended by your physician. A written order from a physician is needed. Individual sessions available by appointment.

Diabetes Support Group
This support group is designed for individuals with diabetes and their caregivers. Facilitated by a social worker and diabetes educator, the group serves as a safe place for emotional support and group discussion. Free.

Medical Nutritional Therapy - Diabetes Education Program
A registered dietitian provides personal nutritional assessments and meal plans. A written order from a physician is needed. Individual sessions available Monday through Friday.

Taking Control of Your Diabetes: A Patient's Perspective
How does a person juggle all that is required to successfully live with diabetes? Join Loretha Huff, AIC Champion patient/speaker, in co-sponsorship with Sanofi-Aventis, as she shares self-management and lifestyle strategies to empower you to make the right choices in taking control of your diabetes. A complimentary reception and valet parking will be provided. Registration is required by Oct. 1. This free lecture takes place Oct. 15 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Hallmark, 2960 N. Lake Shore Drive.
